Out Now on Blue Seal Concept: THE CHAKRA SYMPHONY,
new album by Aner Andros
Concept
The Chakra Symphony is a musical work in seven suites, each dedicated to one of the seven main chakras. Every aspect of the composition and arrangement — tempo, rhythm, key, timbre, lyrics, harmony, and melody — is wholly inspired by the energies and qualities of the chakras.
Conceived as a sound bath translated into live concert form, the work is well-suited to meditation, sound healing sessions, yoga, and any form of energy-based or holistic practice.
Biography
Born in Rome in 1971, Aner Andros came to music at the age of five and began studying piano at eight. Before he was ten he had taken up the guitar, and by fourteen he was playing bass in a teenage band.
At sixteen he began playing the double bass. After completing high school he pursued formal studies in jazz bass and classical double bass, graduating in both at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome.
His professional career soon began as a session musician working in pop and jazz. At twenty-three he encountered yoga and meditation, beginning his practice with Om chanting and Tibetan singing bowls.
This ongoing spiritual search led him to bring music into his inner path. After incorporating gongs and sound bath into his practice, he was drawn to conceive a musical project that would weave sound healing into a world music work, based on and inspired by the seven main chakras — energy vortices he considers a gateway to our spiritual awakening.
Also a renowned artisan and double bass maker, he created his tubular harp: an idiophone consisting of 38 chromatic aluminium tubes tuned to 432 Hz, for which he composed and performs the melodies of The Chakra Symphony.
